Kat chats with Mexico City native, and director of campaigns and mobilizing at Sojourners, Sandy Ovalle. Sandy leads the SojoAction team, which is building a community dedicated to putting its faith in action for social justice. Together they develop the tools and training needed to activate communities and nourish them for this moment. Sandy is also a city dweller, and a people-loving bailarina who loves writing poetry, gathering people around homemade pozole, and thinking about the complexities of living between worlds as an immigrant Latina. In this episode, Kat and Sandy talk about those complex realities, including her mobilizing work at Sojourners and her journey to becoming an American citizen.
